Terms & Conditions

BUTTONS HABERDASHERY

Terms and Conditions
Website purchases, delivery and Click & Collect

1. About these terms
These terms apply to purchases made through www.buttonshaberdashery.co.uk (the “Website”). The Website is operated by Jennifer Shaw trading as Buttons Haberdashery (“we”, “us” or “our”). Our contact details are: Stall 6, Heywood Market, York Street, Heywood, OL10 1LT; 07710 452936; sales@buttonshaberdashery.co.uk.

Please read these terms before placing an order. They explain how an order becomes a contract, how we deliver or prepare orders for collection, and what to do if you change your mind or have a problem. Your statutory consumer rights are not limited by these terms.

2. Products and product information
We sell yarn, fabric, haberdashery, craft supplies, gifts and related products. We take care to describe and photograph products accurately. Colours may look different on different screens, and slight variations in shade, texture, dye lot or finish may occur. Please contact us before ordering if a particular specification is essential to your project.
Product listings are subject to availability. If an item becomes unavailable after you order it, we will contact you and refund any amount paid for that item if we cannot agree a suitable alternative.

3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. The price for the goods, including any applicable taxes, and any delivery charge will be shown before you place your order. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout based on the order. We may correct an obvious pricing error before accepting an order; if the correct price is higher, you may cancel the order and receive a refund rather than proceed at that price.
Payment must be made using a payment method offered at checkout. Payment is processed through the payment provider shown during checkout. We do not store full payment-card details on the Website.

4. Placing and accepting an order
When you submit an order, you are making an offer to buy the items in your basket. The Website will send an acknowledgement that we have received your order; this acknowledgement is not necessarily our acceptance. We accept your order when we send an email confirming that it has been accepted or dispatched. Please make sure your email address and delivery details are correct.
We may decline or cancel an order if an item is unavailable, a price or listing error has occurred, payment is not authorised, or we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse. If we have taken payment for an order we do not accept or cannot fulfil, we will refund the amount paid.

5. Delivery and Click & Collect
We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. We aim to dispatch online orders within 2–3 working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays. Delivery is usually 2–5 working days after dispatch. These are estimates; we will contact you if we become aware of a significant delay. Your order will be delivered within 30 days unless we agree a different time with you.

Delivery options and charges are shown at checkout. We use Royal Mail or another suitable carrier. We are responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you or to someone you have nominated to receive them, except where you arrange your own carrier who was not offered by us.

For Click & Collect, we will contact you when your order is ready. Please wait for that confirmation and collect during our normal opening hours. We will agree with you what to do if you cannot collect within 14 days of our notification. We will not treat an uncollected order as forfeited; any cancellation or refund will be handled in accordance with your statutory rights.

6. Cancelling an online order (change of mind) If you are a consumer buying online, you can cancel most orders without giving a reason. You must tell us within 14 days after the day you, or someone you nominate (other than the carrier), receives the goods. If an order arrives in separate deliveries, the 14 days runs from the day you receive the last item. For Click & Collect, the period runs from the day you collect the goods.

After telling us you wish to cancel, you have a further 14 days to return the goods. You may handle goods as you would in a shop to check their nature, characteristics and functioning. You may be responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary for that purpose.

Unless an item is faulty or we have agreed otherwise, you pay the direct cost of returning goods when cancelling for a change of mind. We will refund the price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option (if you paid for delivery) within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or receiving evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, we refund only the standard delivery cost. We will use the original payment method unless you agree otherwise.

The cancellation right does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, or to other goods where an exception in consumer law applies. This exception is assessed item by item; a product is not automatically exempt simply because it is prepared after an order is placed.

7. How to cancel or return an order
To cancel, email sales@buttonshaberdashery.co.uk or write to us at the address in clause 1 with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may use the optional cancellation form below. Please include your order number and the items you are returning. Contacting us first helps us give you the correct return instructions, but you do not have to use our form or explain your decision.
Please return items securely packaged to the return address we confirm, within 14 days after telling us you are cancelling. Keep proof of postage. For faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods, contact us and we will provide appropriate return instructions; you will not have to pay reasonable return costs.

8. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Goods must be as described, fit for their usual purpose and of satisfactory quality. If something is faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us at sales@buttonshaberdashery.co.uk or on 07710 452936. Please provide your order number and, if helpful, photographs. We may ask for reasonable information to understand the problem, but you do not lose any legal rights by not reporting a fault within a particular short period.

Your remedies are those provided by law, which may include a repair or replacement, or a refund. Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer law.

9. Accounts and acceptable use
If you create an account, keep your login details secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed it. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from our failure to take reasonable care.
You may use the Website for lawful personal shopping. You must not misuse it, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, or use it to send harmful code or unlawful material.

10. Website content and availability
We own or are licensed to use the Website content, including text, branding and images. You may use it to browse and shop, but you must not copy or reuse it commercially without our written permission. Product names and third-party brands remain the property of their respective owners.
We aim to keep the Website available and information up to date, but it may occasionally be unavailable or contain errors. We may update or withdraw Website content. This does not affect an order we have already accepted.

11. Liability
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care. We do not exclude or limit liability where the law does not allow us to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. We are not responsible for business losses where you buy as a consumer.

12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information. Please read it before using the Website or placing an order. The Privacy Policy is separate from these terms and does not change your consumer rights.

13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on the Website. The version in force when we accept your order applies to that order. Please check the “Last updated” date when you revisit the Website.

14. Complaints and governing law
If you have a concern, please contact us first at sales@buttonshaberdashery.co.uk or 07710 452936 so we can try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and court rights available where you live.
